Café Mozart in Old Town (Coffee Shop and Café Review - PRAGUE)

It’s late. You’re in Prague, and you’ve just spent the entire day wandering the pictoresque streets and gazing out over red-topped roofs. Sure, you might’ve had dinner, but you’re not quite ready to go back to your hotel and sleep. What is an avid traveller to do? Get dessert!

After a long day of exploring, Joel and I discovered Café Mozart while passing the Clock Tower (Pražský orloj) in the Old Town Square on our way towards our hotel. We were instantly captivated by the photos on the wall of the potential desserts we could order. It lookecd like ice cream, chocolate, ice cream, whipped cream, and even more ice cream. What’s not to love about that? I, for one, was settled.

The café itself is beautifully decorated in an ornate baroque-style. Live piano music was playing two of the times that we went. All of their desserts are also homemade, and they had different cake offerings each time we returned.

One positive point about the café is it’s central location. You can view the Atronomical Clock from the window. The service we had on all of our visits was also very goo ( but of course, that can change depending on who is working that day).

I personally cannot attest to their heatier and savoury options, but they do offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner (vegetarian options are also advertised). You can also grab a glass of wine or beer if you’re in the mood for a little refreshment.

As you can tell by the mutlple photos below, we went back more than once.

The last night’s delight.

I am a huge fan of fancy spoons. And this had fancy spoons. More fancy spoons!

Here are some more offerings from the menu (truth be told, the Stracciatella had caught my eye to try next):

One thing to note, however, is that they do not accept card payments if your bill is under 500 Czk. As well, though I did enjoy their desserts, I would not recommend their coffee. It was watery, did not have good crema, and tasted machine-made. Other than that, it was a nice café in a convinient location in Prague!

All in all, Café Mozart is a wonderfully located spot in Prague that offers desssert from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Their offerings are very yummy, and their creations are quite faithful to the photos on the menu. If oyu want something sweet after a day of exploring, this should be on your list.

This place is definitely music to my tastebuds!

Thank you for reading, lovely! Happy indulging!
