Top 7 Pretty Places in Poole + Food & Coffee (Dorset, England)
The Original Lush Store
Have you heard of Lush Cosmetics? Unsurprising if you haven’t, it’s only a billion dollar brand.
Anyways, if you’re for some reason(?) interested in this brand, its first ever store is located in Poole.
(Note: please note sarcasm)
Lush Cosmetics’ first ever store is still up and running, filled to the brim with colourful and scent-filled beauty and bath products. If you’re a Lushie, you for sure wouldn’t want to miss visiting this spot when you visit the South of England!
Coffee Saloon
Howdy, coffee lovers! Head on over to Coffee Saloon in Poole for some much-needed morning caffeination and sweet treat. With helpful baristas in a cool setting, even someone as picky as Billy the Kid would enjoy this café!
Bonus: It’s dog-friendly. Shoutout to Macey! Loved your fur, girl!
STORM
This local Poole restaurant is closed during the morning to accommodate and tend to the needs of the local Lush Cosmetics’ employees nearby. When they are open to the public, they serve up some amazing and fresh vegetarian / pesco-vegetarian dishes.
Pop in if you’re craving something healthy and fresh to round up a productive day of buying soaps and bath bombs!
Truly Scrumptious
No travel list is complete without mentioning where to get the best desserts or chocolates.
As for Poole, Truly Scrumptious is the place to go if you’re craving smooth sweets and chocolate-based goodies that are as pleasing to the palette as they are to the eye.
They also sell excellent fudge, but I highly recommend their Sheep shaped chocolate, as it’s a perfect blend of white and milk chocolate (my two personal favourites… don’t you dare call my tastes juvenile!!!)
Scalpen’s Court Museum + Gardens
Adjacent to Poole Museum is Scalpen’s Court Museum & Gardens. The museum is fascinating as it provides a glimpse of life in Poole dating from the 15th to the 19th century. There is also a well-preserved Victorian kitchen and schoolroom which is fascinating to see.
When you’ve finished looking at a wonderful piece of history, take a moment to rest and relax in the outdoor gardens. They are beautifully tended, and provide an oasis in the middle of this port town.
I personally left the gardens more restful than when I had entered!
The Stable
The Stable restaurant chain serves up pizzas, pies, and ciders in comfortable rustic settings. Although not celiac-friendly, they do cater to gluten-sensitive diets by offerings up free substitutions to their existing pizza menu with gluten-free doughs. They also make gluten-free desserts (such as brownies) which honestly taste 👏de👏li👏ci👏ous👏.

Poole Harbour
Although it may seem obvious, a walk along Poole Harbour is recommended for anyone who chooses to visit this village in Dorset County. As long as you don’t have any fries on you to attract any seagulls, spending a few moments smelling fresh sea air under a beautiful sky is a great way to relax after a day of exploring.
