Dr. Roebuck's Skincare Review (Clean, Cruelty-Free, and Vegan)

Hailing from Australia, this cruelty-free and “no-nasties” skincare line is worth getting to know.

There are no parabens, no sulfates, no mineral oils, no phthalates, and no fragrances added. Woohoo!

Dr. Roebuck’s Skincare - Moisturizer, Mask, Serum, Cream, Cleanser, Toner - Review of Clean, Cruelty-Free, Vegan, Natural Beauty.

Dr. Roebuck’s was created by the children of two Aussie doctors, who are very big on using high-quality, effective ingredients to achieve desirable skincare results. The natural products feature a number of impressive active ingredients (some of Australian origin) such as Kakadu Plum Extract, Evening Primrose Oil, Plant-Based Squalane, and even Neroli. Love it!

Noosa - Nourishing Crème Cleanser

Dr. Roebuck’s Skincare - Nourishing Creme Cleanser (Oat Leaf, Calendula, Arnica) - Review of Clean, Cruelty-Free, Vegan, Natural Beauty.

Dr. Roebuck’s Noosa Nourishing Crème Cleanser is a good product that doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. It’s quite gentle, and it lathers well when exposed to water. Some cleaners leave my skin feeling “tight” after usage, but this isn’t the case at all with this particular one.

As for its effectiveness with cleansing, I find this product does its job beautifully. I usually double cleanse, and this (when used as the water-based cleanser) removes the remainder of my makeup and any debris from my skin.

I dislike the smell, but it’s not very overpowering, so it doesn’t bother me much when cleansing my face.

I really appreciate how few “nasty” ingredients are present in the product, considering it’s what I use to remove the pollutants and pore-clogging dirt of the day.

This is a product I really enjoy, and it has been a welcome addition to my routine.

No Worries - Hydrating Face Moisturizer

This is definitely my favourite product from Dr. Roebuck! Their intense moisturizer is extremely hydrating, and has a lovely texture.

Although it’s a bit “thicker” than other creams, it’s very easy to apply and the product doesn’t dry out quickly. You really feel as though it delivers deep hydration, and judging by the results to my skin, I’m sure it does!

This is an efficient product, and a little goes a very long way. One pump is more than enough for my entire face AND my décolletage. My one qualm is that the pump makes it difficult to control the amount of product that comes out - sometimes one pump is too much for my entire face, and I am left with excess product.

There isn’t a strong scent, which is something I personally like in a skincare product. Being “natural”, many creams often have peculiar smells, but this isn’t the case here.

In terms of pricing, this product is very reasonable priced based on its effectiveness, the quality of the ingredients, and the amount you require.

If you’re looking for a product that’ll keep your skin in tip-top shape during colder months, this is it! I highly recommend it.

True Blue - Ultimate Hydrating Serum

Dr. Roebuck’s Skincare - Ultimate Hydrating Serum (Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides, CoQ10) - Review of Clean, Cruelty-Free, Vegan, Natural Beauty.

Along with the moisturizer, I use this hydrating serum. The product applies well, spreads easily, and feels good on the skin. It isn’t “thick” or “heavy”, and moisturizing creams apply quite evenly when layered over it.

As for the scent, its pleasant and not too overpowering.   I have been using this product for a few months, and my skin does feel quite plump as a result.

I do find the product a bit “small” in the sense that I go through it a lot faster than Dr. Roebuck’s moisturizer. However, it is a good product, and it does leave my skin feeling supple and silky.

Bondi Hydrating Mist

As much as I liked the idea of the ingredients when reading the packaging, I did not find that this particular mist did much for my skin. There was little difference after a few weeks of only trying out the mist as part of my routine. I don’t believe it did anything bad to my skin, but there weren’t any visible or textural results.

When it comes to the physical packaging, the spray came out more “aggressive” than what I personally like. As well, I found I wasted a lot of product because the diameter of the spray area was too concentrated, and thus not “wide” enough, to cover enough of my face.

As for the smell, while it did leave a bit to be desired, this is quite normal in “natural” products. I am very pleased Dr. Roebuck’s made the decision to not add any perfume!

This product was not one that worked for my skin. The ingredients are quite intriguing, however, so perhaps it might work for your skin type!

Tama - Healing Mask

Dr. Roebuck’s Skincare - Healing Mask (Turmeric, Manuka Honey, Avocado Oil) - Review of Clean, Cruelty-Free, Vegan, Natural Beauty.

As someone with sensitive and acne-prone skin, I though that the Tama Healing Mask was an effective product.

The mask, which is a blend of antioxidant-rich and anti-inflammatory Avocado Oil, Turmeric, and Manuka Honey (all sustainably sourced - yay!), does make my skin feel soft, and it looks more “refreshed’ and “dewy” after use.

I use it twice a week, and I’ve never experienced any of that dreaded “tight face” feeling with this mask. It doesn’t work overnight, but it is a nice mask to add onto your routine to speed up specific skincare results. Overall, any redness on my face has calmed down.

The only downsides of this product are it’s scent, and it’s staining-factor. The smell reminds me of something I’d come across while walking through a forest after a rainstorm, and the turmeric-heavy cream can definitely stain clothes and towels.

Personally, the smell is very tolerable for me, as I’d prefer a less-than-pleasant scent over added perfume. I think it’s a great the mask didn’t choose to add any supplementary preservatives or scents. However, it is something I wanted to mention on this review for anyone who has an issue with that.

As for the stain-factor, as long as you are diligent enough to put on your clothes before you apply / after you remove the mask, and use a towel you don’t mind potentially receiving a slight yellow tinge (hello, dark towels), you should be fine. I personally use the mask before I go into the shower to minimize that risk.

Overall, for sensitive skin that requires some calmness and nourishment, this is a good mask to try out.
