Best Natural & Cruelty-Free Body & Hand Creams

It’s winter: hands are dry, hands are chapped, and hands could use some TLC!

Below, I detail some of my favourite hand creams and body cream to help combat dry and skin. Each product mentioned has unique properties that make it standout from the rest, but their one commonality is that they are all effective!

Enjoy!

Dream Cream (Lush Cosmetics)

If you happen to be a Lushie (or are often on social media), you’ve probably heard about the magic powers of this cream which has apparently cured many people’s eczema.

As someone who has dry skin, I can confidently say this cream is very moisturizing. It has a pleasant odour that isn’t too overpowering, and the formula rubs in very easily.

For a well-rounded cream that would work on many skin types, this is a safe choice.

Dermud Nourishing Body Cream (Ahava)

Dead Sea salt is filled with 21 essential minerals (calcium, potassium, magnesium, etc), so it’s no wonder that this hand cream made from the nutrient-rich water does wonders for parched skin.

On top of its standout Dead Sea salt, the product also contains witch hazel which has multiple skincare benefits.

This product really works well, and my mum has sworn by it for years. It’s a top-notch moisturizer, and it has a pleasing (and not too heavy) scent. On top of that, it’s not sticky and it’s easy to rub into your hands. Two thumbs up!

Hydrating Luxury Body Butter (Kat Burki)

Another product containing Kat Burki’s KB5™ Complex and a mix of essential oils is their Body Butter.

While definitely effective (it has cold-pressed Rose Hip and Evening Primrose oils), I personally find it a bit too expensive for a body cream to justify the cost.

Does it work well? Absolutely. However, I do think there are other products at a more affordable price range that deliver similar results. If you are planning to splurge, I would more strong recommend one of their facial moisturizers or their hand cream for more area-specific treatment.

If you have the money to spend, it’s a nice product, but I won’t be re-purchasing until I win the lottery.

Fragonia & Sea Buckthorn Instant Hand Therapy Cream (Pai Skincare)

If you have eczema-prone skin, Pai Skincare makes a gentle hand cream that is suitable for your needs.

The hand cream is rich in Omegas 3, 6, and 7. It also features Fragonia (an essential oil, with similar antibacterial properties as Tea Tree Oil), and Seabuckthorn (rich in carotenoids, Palmitoleic Acid, and antioxidants).

This hand cream comes is easy to pop into your purse, and it nourishes and hydrates hand on the go. It has a nice scent, and leaves my skin feeling supple, soft, and soothed.

Coconut oil Body Butter (The Body Shop)

I have been using The Body Shop’s Body Butter’s for years.

The dense formulation of these body butters make them ultra moisturizing. They apply well, and stay on the skin for hours. For this reason, I recommend using them either right after you shower, or before bed.

I am trying to cut down on synthetic fragrances in my everyday products, but I do have to admit these smell phenomenal. If you don’t mind fragrance, you will enjoy this.

The brand’s ethos is one I admire, and many of their ingredients come from ethical practices. In the case of the Coconut Oil Body Butter, the main ingredient derives from Community Trade cold-pressed virgin coconut oil (from Samoa, Polynesia).

If you need powerhouse hydration, this is a very good product.

My favourite body butters? Brazil Nut, Moringa, and Wild Argan Oil.

Cushie Vitamin Rich Hand Crème (Dr. Roebuck’s)

Dr. Roebuck’s is a brand I already trust and use for my facial skincare, but it does also make a very effective hand cream!

Shea butter, vitamin E, oatmeal, and keratin (plant-based and vegan), make this an antioxidant-rich cream that soothes as it also works anti-aging magic. I really like the formula, as it’s easy to apply, and dries quickly.

My only qualm with this product is that I am not a fan of the scent. However, I am a fan of the fact that there isn’t any needed or unnecessary fragrance/ perfume added. So, despite this hand cream not pleasing my nose, it’s intense hydration capabilities please my hands!

Be sure to look at my review of other notable Dr. Roebuck’s products!

KAT BURKI HAND THERAPY

Kat Burki has infused this hand cream with a plethora of natural substances designed to keep your hands soft and smooth.

Their patented KB5™ Complex (a mix of Arnica, Gotu Kola, Lavender, Calendula, Chamomile) is paired with cold-pressed essential oils for a pleasant smelling and highly-effective product.

There might be significant sticker-shock considering this product is just a hand cream, but it really does work beautifully. If you don’t mind the splurge, the skin on your hands will thank you!
