Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (Gluten Free + Vegan Option)
I have always preferred eating cookie dough over eating the actual cookie. I know, I know: “Cookie dough is bad for you!”. I get that all the time.
In my quest to find an alternative to eating raw egg yolk, yet still enjoy the taste of delicious cookie dough, I whipped up this recipe. It’s easy to make, quick to whip up, and best of all, pretty darn delicious.
I made sure to include vegan substitutes for all ingredients in this recipe, so that any person with specific dietary requirements can try it themselves! Enjoy 💚

1/2 cup (48g) almond flour
3/4 cups (150g) brown sugar
1/2 cup (115g) granulated sugar
*1 cup (227g) salted butter
*Vegan substitute: 1 cup vegan butter - OR - 1 cup (250ml) avocado oil - OR - 1 cup apple sauce
2 tsp vanilla extract
*1 tbsp milk
*Vegan substitute: 1 tbsp oat milk / almond milk
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
*Vegan substitute: 1/2 cup vegan dark chocolate chips
Instructions
In a bowl, add 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar, 1/2 (115g) granulated sugar, 2 tsp vanilla extract, *1 cup (227g) butter (*or vegan substitutes mentioned above), *1 tbsp milk (*or vegan substitutes mentioned above)
With a whisk or a handheld mixer, mix all of the ingredients together until well blended
In a separate bowl, add 1 1/2 cup (192g) flour, 1/2 (48g) almond flour, and 1 tsp salt
Make sure to microwave/ heat your flour separately for 1 min. 15 secs. - 1 min. 30 secs. before eating it raw!
Mix all of the ingredients together with a spatula
Slowly mix 1/4 portions of the dry ingredients (flour and cocoa powder mixture) into the wet ingredients
Gently stir all of the ingredients together until just blended
Be careful not to over stir!
Fold 1/2 cup (90g) of chocolate chips (*or vegan substitutes mentioned above) into the mixture
Take out golf ball sized portions of dough, and roll them together between your palms
Set them aside on a plate, and allow the balls to harden for a minimum of 15 minutes before digging in
Enjoy!
Helpful Tips:
Make sure to microwave the flour before eating it!
To stop the dough from sticking to your palms, wet your hands before doing it
If you don’t think you’ll be able to finish all of the cookie dough balls you’ve made, put them into an airtight container and store them int the freezer. When you crave some, remove the container 30 minutes before eating and they’ll be good to go!
