Thirsty Naturals Skincare Review (Natural and Vegan - Suitable for Acne and Blemishes)

❌ Acne has no place on my face ❌

As much as I wish saying that would make it true, sadly, acne still finds its way onto my skin. How I wish they could be like vampires, and I could simply rescind their welcome when I please!

But I can’t. And that’s where Thirsty Naturals comes in!

This Canadian brand is free of sulphates, silicones, synthetic fragrances, SLS, EDTA, and parabens. It’s also vegan, cruelty-free, and dermatologist tested. Those are all qualities that I can appreciate in my skincare. This brand is targeted towards teenage skin that experiences common breakouts and blemishes. However, those who have recently exited their teens but still experience acne on their youthful skin (hello 🙋🏻‍♀️) can still benefit from the brand.

I used these products non-stop for 30 days, and I am happy to report my findings below!

Thirsty Naturals Foaming Face Wash is an alcohol-free cleanser that helps remove excess oil from the skin.

I have sensitive skin, and I found this cleanser gentle and soothing. With the inclusion of spearmint leaf oil, it did leave behind a slight tingle, but it wasn’t unpleasant. In fact, I found it quite refreshing!

Despite the exclusion of sulphates, this face wash foams beautifully. It lathers really well, and it feels good to massage it into the face. I think the texture is a big plus for the product!

The scent is light and minty. It isn’t too overbearing, so it shouldn’t bother those who are picky about smells.

In regards to effectiveness, I didn’t notice any increased breakouts while using this product. I think it did its job to keep blemishes at bay, all while still keeping my skin hydrated. Some acne washes work well to clear up my face, but leave my skin feeling stripped and dry. This is not the case here!

Everything about this product screams “clean” and “refreshed”. I really enjoyed using it, and it’s definitely gentle enough to use daily on acne-prone skin.

Balancing Moisturizer

Thirsty Naturals Balancing Moisturizer is a lightweight cream that leaves the skin with a matte, rather than shiny, finish.

The formula is easy-to-apply, as it spreads really easily. The pump is also well-designed, as it allows for complete control in determining how much product to use.

The cream soaks in quickly, and it’s simple to apply makeup and SPF overtop. I found it soothing, cooling, and not too heavy. I especially liked that it didn’t leave my skin looking greasy.

The one thing I disliked about this product is the scent. I am not usually someone who is swayed by smell, so I did continue to use the cream, and it eventually grew on me (unlike other products whose smells I disliked more). However, for those who consider scent crucial in product choice, this strong and sometimes overpowering scent could be a dealbreaker. One of my friends who uses this product noted that they disliked the smell at first, but grew to like it after a week of usage.

Overall, I liked the aesthetics of this balancing moisturizer. It visually left my skin looking matte and calmed down. If the smell of a product doesn’t matter much to you, this is a good product!

Spot Treatment

I love Thirsty Naturals Spot Treatment!

This blemish-blasting treatment works, but doesn’t leave my skin flaky and dry after use.

While this doesn’t work as quickly as some salicylic acid treatments, it’s gentle enough to use consistency without damaging the skin. I didn’t experience any “skin-peeling” with this product, which makes me more likely to use it without hesitation on any new spots that appear.

This product is unscented, so the smell is a direct result of the ingredients that are in it. I personally didn't find it too overpowering. I tend to apply it at night as the last step in my routine.

Overall, I really enjoyed this product, and would definitely purchase it again.

3-in-1 Wash

Multitaskers are rejoicing knowing that Thirsty Naturals 3-in-2 Wash exists!

This non-drying wash is targeted at offering de-odorizing and moisturizing benefits to the body.

Personally, I do not regularly use this on my face or my hair (I was trying out other products there), but I did enjoy it as a body wash.

I found the formula cooling, refreshing, and easy to lather. I especially enjoyed this on my back and thighs, and found that the skin there has been much more soft and clear since I began use.

The smell is also fantastic - it has a tropical feel, thanks to sweet citrus, bergamot, and spearmint.

I could see this product being excellent to bring on vacation, as it’s so multi-use. Hostel hopping would be a little more glamorous if you could bring along a proper wash!

Overall, this is a versatile product that does a good job at delivering on its claims. I think this would be great for those who are new to skincare, or who are very picky about products.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I have been very impressed by Thirsty Naturals!

While this brand is targeted at teens, I think those who are in their 20s with youthful (and acne prone) skin can still benefit from this range. For a clean skincare brand, I think the prices are also very affordable.

Compared to what is available on the “natural” market for breakouts and blemish-prone skin, I think Thirsty Naturals is definitely able to hold it’s own. I recommend checking it out!
