Top 5 Best Gelato Shops in Toronto
We all scream for ice cream, but sometimes, we lovingly call out for gelato!
Whether you prefer your gelato traditional or contemporary, there is one on this list that is right for you! Let me know in the comments if there are other Gelaterias in the city that I should check out!
When you’re filled up on gelato, don’t forget to check out my Toronto Top 10 Ice Cream, Top 10 Soft Serve, or Top 10 Vegan Ice Cream to make a perfect ice cream sandwich!
Note: This list is in an arbitrary order. They are not ranked from best-to-worst.
mizzica Gelateria & Cafe
Inside the royal blue Gelateria, is a royal welcome to your tastebuds.
Mizzica is a well-awarded gelato shop, so it should come as no surprise that they serve up great gelato. Luckily for vegans, plant-based people, and dairy-free/ lactose-free individuals, they have some refreshing vegan offerings on permanent rotation.
Choose from seasonal sorbets, and dairy-free gelato. You’ll be back - but come early. There’s always a line!

punto gelato
Let me get straight to the point - Punto Gelato is a great, well-rounded Gelateria in the city.
Punto always offer a fair amount of flavours, including both dairy-free and gluten-free options (plus a gluten free cone)!
If you’re looking for a tried-and-true choice, give this a go!

Noteworthy Flavour:
Caramello
death in venice gelato
An acutely aesthetic interior accompanies expertly crafted gelato at this quirky Gelateria counter.
While their flavours often rotate, vegan and dairy-free options are always available. If you can’t visit the brick-and-mortar shop, there are tubs of the stuff available throughout the city,
Inventive flavours and a delectable texture make this a worthwhile visit!
Location:
1418 Dundas St W
Noteworthy Flavours:
Chocolate Coconut & Vanilla
nani’s gelato
With four spots in the city, it’s clear that people like Nani’s Gelato! And with rotating flavours bi-weekly, what’s not to like?
Something unique about Nani’s is that it has many South Asian-inspired flavours (I.e. Mango Lassi). If you want expertly handcrafted gelato with a twist, this is definitely a spot you want to add to your list!
Bonus: The delicious ice bream bars. The strawberry dark chocolate is my favourite (blurrily pictured below).
Location:
6 Charles St E / 120 Lynn Williams St Unit 2B / 86 Copper Creek Dr Unit 101
Noteworthy Flavours:
Café Mocha
hollywood gelato
The other Gelateria’s on this list are rather traditional. Hollywood Gelato is still gelato, but I’d say it’s more modern and kitschy. Rather than focusing on perfecting a few standard flavours, Hollywood Gelato plays it big with a daily offering of 22 flavours, out of a repertoire of 200+ (and no, that’s not an exaggeration).
If you prefer your gelato more “ice-cream-esque” (i.e. flavours such as Reese Peanut Butter Cup, Rocky Rocher, Cake Batter), then definitely check out Hollywood Gelato. The flavours might not be the stereotypical offerings, but they’re fun, delicious, and served in their iconic Leaside setting.

1640 Bayview Ave
Noteworthy Flavours:
