Top 5 Late-Night Restaurants and Food Spots in Toronto (Gluten Free and Vegan Options)
It’s past midnight in Toronto, but you gotta eat! Where do you go?
EASY! One of the fabulous places mentioned on this list. Why force yourself to do a quick Rabba or Aisle24 pit-stop, when you can still get a brilliant meal out on the town?
I even have places for those with Vegan or Gluten Free diets, so there’s no excuse not to be well-fed at any time of day (or night)!
insomnia
Gluten Free and Vegan Options
Aptly named Insomnia is open late daily, from 10pm - 2am. They have three rotating menus depending on the time of day, but I’ve sampled dishes from all three, and I can confirm they are marvellous.
As someone who isn’t always awake for a 3:00p.m. brunch on the weekend (who is?!), I really appreciate being able to grab my salmon-and-egg fix later ing the day.
There are vegetarian options, vegan options, and of course, gluten-free options all clearly marked on the menu. This establishment is very keen on tailoring your order to you, so rest assured all of your dietary needs will be taken care of with a smile.
The low-lighting is also appreciated.

Score on king
Gluten Free (Celiac Friendly) and Vegan Options
You don’t have to be a sports fan to try some of the yummy comfort food at Score on King!
This bar is open from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 a.m. daily. That means, you can grab burgers, fries, or chicken wings on your way home from a night out (or just before the rest of the night get’s started. I don’t judge).
Score on King makes churns out elevated bar food, and even caters to those with dietary restrictions. You can find vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, and even gluten-free items on their menu. Bonus for the gluten free community: they use a dedicated fryer for their fried foods, in order to minimize cross-contamination. Be sure to communicate to your server about the severity of your allergy, but rest assured, they do take diet requirements seriously.
In general, this is a great late night spot you should be checking out!

Ristorante Sociale
Gluten Free and Vegetarian Options
The latest sister restaurant of popular Bib Gourmand rated Enoteca Sociale is Ristorante Sociale!
As is customary in the Entertainment District near King St W, this restaurant is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays open until 11:00 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday until 2:00 a.m.!
Besides the wonderful Italian influenced dishes (which also have gluten-free or vegetarian alternatives), this restaurant really amps up the ambiance with live DJ sets, and dancers. They are known for their go-go dancers who are dressed as lampshades and other kitschy items who waltz around the tables while you dine. Sounds odd, but it’s very entertaining!
For a true King West vibe, head over to Ristorante Sociale!

La Carnita
Gluten Free and Vegan Options
Every La Carnita location is open until 11pm on their less busy nights (Sunday-Thursday), but certain ones are open until the wee hours of the morning on the weekend!
La Carnita is cool, and very trendy. It has excellent cocktails, mocktails, and dishes.
In regards to dietary requirements, although they are not strictly gluten-free, the Mexican dishes they make are naturally flourless. There are also vegan and vegetarian options.
If you’re looking for a great place to bring your friends for cocktails and delicious bites while you’re all dressed up, La Carnita delivers on both the food and hip-factor.

Vela
Gluten Free and Vegetarian Options
Vela Toronto is my new favourite restaurant in King West area. No contest.
If you’re hungry late, they are open until midnight on their less busy days, and until 1:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The offspring of a gluten-free and non-gluten free couple, this is a perfect spot for mixed dietary restriction diners. The majority of the menu can be modified for Gluten Free, including all the pastas. They also have dairy-free options, and nut-free options. Vela really is the place for inclusive dining!
Their brunch, offered only on Sundays, is worth booking. Exclusive items like a Salmon Tower, Brown Butter Hollandaise, and even a Korean-inspired eggplant omelette are a treat for the palette.
Bonus? There’s live jazz!
I also need to shoutout their desserts - they are insanely good. Above all, the opera cake is sublime.
Vela is pricey, bur worth it. Give it a go!
